Dealing with the stress of a collision is hard enough without trying to figure out how your accident insurance works. The Reisterstown Auto Body team can assist you with all your important questions. We work with insurance companies every day, and will help you navigate the details of your repair and insurance coverage to help you receive the best possible outcome.

The best way to answer your specific questions is to talk with you in person. So please stop by or call. But here are some answers to frequently asked questions about insurance policies.
Will the insurance company guarantee Reisterstown Auto Body’s work?
Reisterstown Auto Body provides you with a hassle-free, lifetime warranty for the work we perform. Your insurance carrier may or may not provide additional backing to our warranty, but it is generally the body shop that provides the warranty. For over 30 years, customers have been coming back to Reisterstown Auto Body because we do it right the first time, and back it with our Lifetime Warranty!
Who pays for repairs?
It depends on the circumstances. If the other party was at fault, their insurance company should pay for your repairs and the rental car you will need while your car is being repaired. If you were at fault, but have comprehensive or collision insurance, the insurance company generally pays the costs minus your deductible. You want to be very careful to include all information when you report the claim. The insurance companies sometimes make very quick judgments about fault, and rarely change their mind once a determination is made. Even the slightest detail can make a difference!
Do I have to go where they send me?
No. You can have your car repaired wherever you want. Reisterstown Auto Body has relationships with all of the major insurance companies, and will work with them to provide you with a free estimate that they accept. Even if they sent you somewhere else for your estimate, you can bring your car to us (or we will come get your car if you need a tow). We often accept estimates from other reputable shops and will work out the details with your insurance company on your behalf.
What if there is hidden damage not listed on the estimate?
Sometimes (in fact, often) there is damage that could not be seen when the initial estimate was performed. No worries…We work with the insurance company to cover any “supplemental damage” that may be found. Once you give us the job, we’ll keep you posted, but we’ll also take care of the insurance company communications for you.
Do I have the right to a rental car?
If the other driver was at fault, you can generally seek reimbursement from their insurance company. If you were at fault, check your policy to see if you purchased rental car coverage. If you need a rental car, we can arrange it for you, so it’s waiting here when you drop off your car.
